Nine Inch Nails Terminal 5 8/26/09 (Last NYC Show Ever!) Bootleg!

300.reznor.trent.021709

That crazy bastard Trent Reznor is almost done with his Wave Goodbye Tour with Nine Inch Nails. Apparently the rigors of touring have fatigued him. It must be all that running around on stage. Anyways, last week NIN played four shows in New York City (Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and twice at sweaty Terminal 5). Thanks to bootleggers, we were able to find a great recording of their final show in New York City on August 26th. Go paint your nails black and then head here to download the show.

Neil Young wants you to buy this for us

archivebox

It’s true. I have it on good authority that Neil himself wants someone to buy the Neil Young Archives, Vol. 1 for me, and maybe one for Alfonso, too. 128 tracks of Neil, 48 of which are previously unreleased, covering the years 1963 to 1972. This includes several tracks from a group Neil was in called the Squires before he ever came to the USA. The blu-ray edition comes with a 236 page hardcover book, a poster and a wealth of other media and related information about the songs and that period of Neil’s life. A link to downloadable mp3’s of the recordings is also provided, so you can share them on the net put them on your iPod. It’s designed to be update-able, so as new archival footage/tracks/info becomes available, it can be revised. If anyone had any doubts that Neil Young was a techno-geek (even after the lincvolt project), I think they can lay them aside now. If they would also lay aside $300 and buy me the blu-ray edition, that would be great.

Patrick Stump’s hair gets thinner after brush with the law

Is this guy a wigger? I remember reading some kind of article that mentions his deep love for rap or something. It wouldn’t surprise me considering the collab with Timbo and all. Well, Mr. Stump got a taste for what it’s like being Black in America and I’m quite sure he didn’t enjoy it. The Fall Out Boy frontman was recently arrested for driving without a license. Without a fucking license. Who gets arrested for that shit these days besides this guy? This proves to me that police are still on some bullshit, and FOB is only recognizable by little girls.

I don’t know what real band leader Pete Wentz had to say, but Mr. Stump poked fun at the situation:

All I really have to say is ignorance of the law isn’t innocence…I didn’t want to give up my Illinois driver’s license and was unaware that was a crime. It is, by the way, in the state of California. Lesson learned. I technically broke a law, so technically I deserve whatever I get. But man, is my mom gonna be pissed.

Dave Mustaine Is at it again!

Oh, Dave.

Dave Mustaine is crazy. I absolutely love the guy’s music. Hell, I was a part of many, many Megadeth > Metallica threads on message boards across the internet. I had no desire to learn guitar until I heard “Symphony of Destruction” for the first time. It’s safe to say that I keep up on all his doings, even when he’s being a moron. Dave recently spoke with Dave Ling of Classic Rock Magazine and, as usual, there are some fucking gems in there.

However, I’m only going to focus on the shit talking he did when it was mentioned he was chosen number one in Joel McIver’s “100 Greatest Metal Guitarists” book:

How did it feel to be No. 1 in Joel McIver’s recent book, “The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists“?

It was especially sweet when I found out that Joel has written books on Metallica. I looked at my copy of the book — I wasn’t on the cover or the back. I figured I’d be somewhere like No. 69. So I thumbed through it; it’s a really comprehensive, good book. I got to No. 50 and I thought, “Am I in here?” I’d been told that I was, but not which position. So I got No. 16 and I saw Hetfield. I thought, “Wow,” because I respect James. I’m a better lead player than he is, but he’s one of the three best rhythm players in the world.

The other two being?

Malcolm Young [of AC/DC] and myself. Malcolm kept it basic but brought a whole new style of rhythm playing to the world. So I got to the Top 10… I still wasn’t in there. Every page I turned, I became more excited. I get to No. 5 and it’s Kirk [Hammett], and I thought, “Thank you, God.” At that point it didn’t matter [which position I was]. To be better than both of them [Hetfield and Hammett] meant so much — it’s been one of the pet peeves of my career and I’ve never known how to deal with it. I didn’t realize that it has had so much bearing upon my life. Then I got to No. 2 and it was John Petrucci [of Dream Theater] and I froze. I was No. 1. What made it better still is that the guy wrote: “This isn’t about Dave as a person because he’s been a cock” — [interjects with a bray of laughter] — “These four pages are about his guitar playing, which is the best. There are people who are better at one thing that Mustaine does, and others that are better than another, but no-one who’s as good at everything.” All I thought was… I win!

I haven’t read the book yet. Someone tell me where Dimebag is, please. Also, I just found out that Dave Mustaine will have his own radio show soon. I would give anything to be his co-host. Please, Jews who run radio, let me be his co-host.

Burst Appendix is reason for cancelation of Slipknot tour.

You may have heard about Slipknot canceling their current tour due to Joey Jordison falling ill. It’s just been reported that a burst appendix is the cause of the drummer being sidelined. The band is planning on getting back on the road when he is ready to return.

There is also word of a new Slipknot album coming out in 2010. Stay tuned.

Viking Row > Moshing

Those crazy Brits! Check out the video above to see a bunch of folks at the Bloodstock Open Air Festival pretending to row an epic Viking ship during Amon Amarth’s set. Apparently this is the new shit, and it’s spreading like wildfire.
