U2 has a new songwriter!

Just saw the video for their latest endeavor “Ill Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight”. Yes, Cap’n Obvious is apparently writing lyrics for U2. I believe the b-side will be “Ill Go Crazy If I Do Go Crazy Tonight”. What happened to songs with meaning and purpose, like “Sunday, Bloody Sunday”? Here’s a link to it because even though they posted the video, they don’t want anyone outside youtube to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmJgdXkAqMU

Dethklok Announces The Dethalbum II

Dethalbumii

I don’t think there’s been any other cartoons that have given life to a successful death metal band before. Dethklok is ready to release The Dethalbum II through Williams Street Records on September 8th! Official press release and tracklist after the jump.

DAN NELSON LEAVES ANTHRAX, JOHN BUSH TO STEP IN FOR ONE SHOW!!

Talk about bad luck! Dan Nelson officially leaves Anthrax, and Blabbermouth was the first to report:

“As announced last week, thrash legends ANTHRAX regretfully cancelled the first three dates on the second leg of their European tour due to new vocalist Dan Nelson‘s unexpected illness. An additional seven European dates are also cancelled, those scheduled from July 22 to July 30.

ANTHRAX is thrilled to announce that they will play the August 1 Sonisphere festival in Knebworth, England, with their good friend John Bush [ANTHRAX‘s singer from 1992 to 2005] joining them for a very special one-off performance.

“The members of ANTHRAX have confirmed the departure of vocalist Dan Nelson. In light of this development, ANTHRAX‘s slot on the U.S. SLIPKNOT dates set for August and September, has also been cancelled. ANTHRAX is already actively considering lead singer candidates, and looks forward to hitting the road before the end of the year.”

And now it’s been reported that the band’s upcoming album Worship Music, which was supposed to be released October 23rd, has been pushed back to a “later date.” This is really unfortunate for these dudes. Personally, if I was them, I’d give up if it werent John Bush or Joey Belladonna on vocals. We’ll see how things unfold.

Scar Symmetry to Release New Album This Year.

ssband

At least that’s what Nuclear Blast is reporting. Dark Matter Dimensions is scheduled to be released on October 2nd. Interesting because the band’s lead vocalist, Christian Alvestam, left in September. Well, the rest of the band decided to fill the void..twice. There are now two vocalists in the band; Roberth Karlsson and Lars Palmqvist.I’m curious to see how it all unfolds. I guess all we can do is wait for stuff to start leaking. My fingers are crossed.
