Steven Tyler breaks a hip, Aerosmith tour postponed.

aerosmith

Why did this take so long to happen? According to Rolling Stone, Steven Tyler hurt his 60-something year old bones doing a move on stage that is reserved for people in their 20’s, and now Aerosmith is postponing THREE dates from their current tour.

I’m going to treat this like a single elimination tournament that consists of  Mick Jagger, The Boss, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. Now that Tyler is gone, there’s no telling who will outlast death!

I choose Neil Young, btw.

Who the Hell Is This?

565px-Neal_Schon

You have no idea, do you? I wouldn’t either just from a pic if I hadn’t just been on his wiki page. This is Neal Schon, a good guitarist with poor decision-making capabilities. How good is he? He was called by Eric Clapton to be part of supergroup Derek and the Dominoes. When he was 16! He passed on that, but only because Carlos Santana had asked him to join Santana first (yet another example of Clapton copying someone). So there he is, 17 years old and hanging out with Carlos motherfucking Santana. All is right with the world, you’d think. You’d think wrong. He left Santana after a couple years for some other latin-fusion band called Azteca. He then takes off to form Journey, which is initially a flop. Journey finally becomes popular amongst people with poor taste with the addition of that huge homo Steve Perry in 1977. So, in the space of 6 years, he went from backing up Carlos Santana, a rock icon that is still relevant today, to backing up Steve Perry, who is now some old dude in need of a hip replacement.

It was either this:

Or this:

(HINT: IT’S NOT A TOUGH CALL)

My only explanation for this thick-headed career move is that he doesn’t like Hispanics. Guest-writing on this blog with that creepy wetback Alfonso, I can totally understand.
